Mark Brandt

Mark Brandt is a technician in the Command & Control (C3) Section which consists of video, radio, time-base and fire systems. He is responsible for maintaining the fire alarm; access control and public address systems. Included in his duties are the continuous upgrade of his systems and the installation of new fire alarm systems. He also runs a prototype circuit board manufacturing laboratory to support development projects at the Test Range.

Mark’s advice on becoming a technician:

Important school subjects: Physical Science, Mathematics and English.

Qualifications: National Diploma Electrical Engineering

Best part of the job: Denel Overberg Test Range is a special place to work at. There are always new challenges at work, either with instrumentation or to support clients’ and co-workers requirements. Testing of weapon systems is a unique experience. We as a diverse group of people have only one goal in mind - to make every test campaign a success.
