Ms Bridget Salo the newly appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Denel Overberg Test Range.

Ms Bridget Salo, born and bred in Bredasdorp, has been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Denel Overberg Test Range.

Her appointment was one of recently made appointments within the Denel Group to ensure that Denel develops the appropriate organisational structure with the right leadership in place to drive the company’s new growth phase.

“The changes will also significantly enhance our transformation interventions and imperatives,” said Group CEO, Mr Riaz Saloojee on announcing the appointments.

Ms Salo started her employment career at Cape Agulhas Municipality and held various positions in local government before joining the Test Range as part of the Executive team in 2013. Her responsibilities include developing and managing systems for human resources management. She is also the senior executive responsible for championing transformation at the Test Range.

Congratulating Bridget on her appointment, the Chief Executive Officer of the Test Range, Mr Abrie van der Walt said: “I am confident that Bridget will continue to contribute significantly to the success of the Test Range. I wish her everything of the best with the challenges ahead.”

Bridget describes herself as someone who is dedicated to her family and work. “I am firm in my decisions and feel dissatisfied if I have not achieved what I set out to do,” she mentioned.

She sees her new role as the beginning of a new era for Denel Overberg Test Range and a role she will continue to play in ensuring that women in particular rise to the challenges they face in the male dominated defence field. “I am extremely honoured and at the same time humbled by the faith and trust that the current leadership has placed in me. I am determined to learn more about the business, to support the CEO, to continue service delivery to the best of my ability and to make a success of this opportunity, “she said.

Bridget holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Stellenbosch, Bachelor of Public Administration Honours, B.Tech in Public Management from the Peninsula Technikon and a National Diploma in Public Management and Administration.
